in the Washington Jewish Week.  The Jewish Democratic Council of America replaced the National Jewish Democratic Council.  The JDCA is a 501c4 that allows not disclosing donors while limiting its work to 'social welfare' not supporting candidates or campaigns.

The article by Jared Foretek was corroborated here in another dead link.  2 independent sources for the same information is a standard of fair, evenhanded,  balanced and objective journalism.

The article in Ha'aretz also posted here named many of the elected officials who attended and where the event was located unlike Jared Foretek who left out most of what Ha'aretz reported.  Below is a copy-paste of what formerly loaded in 2017 and still loaded in 2022.

WATCH -- Last night [Nov 8, 2017], the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) launched its opening event at the Capitol Liaison Hotel in Washington. Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer joined dozens of members of Congress, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). The new group, chaired by former Congressman Ron Klein (D-FL), will work to promote Democratic candidates in federal and state elections in line with Jewish communal values and the US-Israel relationship. “American Jews are one of the Democratic Party’s most reliable constituencies, and more than ever require a new organization to represent their interests, as the Trump administration fans anti-Semitism, nativism, racism and other forms of bigotry,” said Klein.-- In his remarks, Dermer emphasized the importance of strong Israeli ties with the Democratic Party. "You cannot fly a plane with one wing, and you cannot have a strong alliance between the US and Israel without strong support in both parties and so we are very pleased that you have started this organization," he said. The senior Israeli diplomat touted strong backing for Israel in the Democratic Party throughout the past 70 years listing the work of former Senators Henry "Scoop" Jackson and Robert Wagner. [Pic; Pic]SPOTTED: Senators Bob Casey, Maria Cantwell, Ben Cardin, Michael Bennett, Sherrod Brown, Tim Kaine, Chris Murphy, Debbie Stabenow, and Chris Van Hollen; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Democratic House Whip Steny Hoyer, Reps. David Cicilline, Charlie [Crist] Christ, Eliot Engel, Lois Frankel, Anthony Brown, Joe Kennedy III, Nita [Lowey] Lowrey, Ted Lieu, Jerry Nadler, Jared Polis, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Sheila Jackson Lee, Jacky Rosen, Jamie Raskin, Ted Deutch,  Jan Schakowsky, Alan Lowenthal, Grace Meng, Brad Sherman, Darren Soto, and Mark Takano; and former Congressman Howard Berman.

A note about Howard Berman.  He is quoted as saying ‘before I was a Democrat I was a zionist.”  Still being included in the JDCA launch 5 years after he lost a primary to Brad Sherman (drawn into the same district for 2012 primaries) speaks volumes about JDCA being the PEP or liberal zionist DCA in effect and intent.  Jews who reject zionism and the redefinition of anti-semitism by 7 of 11 illustrative examples of the IHRA definition and the 2018, 2020 and 2022 candidates they support are being singled out and demonized to delegitimize Judaism without zionism.

By the 2022 primary cycle the JDCA (more accurately PEP or liberal zionist DCA) organized online rallies and webinars to re-elect mostly incumbents in GA

.   In Ohio in 2021 the JDCA organized individuals to support Shontel Brown over Nina Turner in a special election to replace Marcia Fudge.  Marcia Fudge was appointed and confirmed as HUD secretary.  Shontel Brown also received big money from AIPAC's new 501c4 United Democracy Project and separate-from-AIPAC 501c4 Democratic Majority for Israel in her primary against Nina Turner for a full term in 2022.  In Maryland the JDCA held webinars with incumbents

except for Anthony Brown (D-Dist 4) who quit to run for attorney general (won July 2022 primary).  Heather Mizeur, a former delegate who ran in a 2014 gubernatorial primary against Anthony Brown and who won her primary to challenge 10 year incumbent Andy Harris R-Dist 1, was left out of the webinar organizing perhaps because of a selectively applied rule to only support building constituent relationships with incumbents in primary election cycles.

By September 2022 the JDCA started their general election voter outreach to build individual relationships with and turn out votes for candidates in another webinar (contact-free rally).

The rally was publicized on the social media platform of twitter here

Here is the description of the contact-free online rally to turn out the "Jewish vote" (actually PEP or liberal zionist part of the Jewish community).  MI State Senator Mallory McMorrow is great on domestic cultural issues of choice and LGBTQ civil rights but likely as bad as new House member Haley Stevens D-MI will be on final status Israel-Palestine peace issues.  Stevens defeated Andy Levin in a primary with big money from DMFI and UDP.  Levin had introduced the 2 state solution act that would have conditioned US military aid to Israel on the basis of supporting a Palestinian state at peace bordering Israel.  Andy Levin's views on 'left wing antisemitism' were ignored and likely the basis of support for Haley Stevens in the primary Levin lost.
