Don't believe the 'Controversy' surrounding CAIR or Addameer

Israel's surveillance of individual social media accounts to 'prevent terrorism' in ways that abridge the notions of free speech, based on the 1st amendment of its ally the USA, banning government censorship of speech has been reported before the following WaPo article aggregated in the Santa Fe New Mexican.

Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor had his letter picked by the WaPo letter selectors for printing and posting here, and in an excerpt here because of WaPo letter exclusivity to retain online subscription and print sale revenue.  Here is an image of the letter from the print edition your humble post author paid $3.50 for in a 'brick and mortar' store.

In 2018 Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor plays the same guilt-by-association 'card' to single out and demonize one person associated, if not a major donor, with a Palestinian human rights group (Addameer) to delegitimize the many other people and the groups' ability to fundraise to sustain its work.

CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) has been smeared, with the same tactics ('card') used by Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor, as an 'unindicted co-conspirator' in a House of Representatives (Congressional) hearing with the same guilt-by-association tactics as retaliation for the leader of its Florida chapter demanding harsher prosecution of Robert Goldstein

August 22, 2002
Tampa-area podiatrist Robert J. Goldstein is arrested after police, called by Goldstein's wife after he allegedly threatened to kill her, find more than 15 explosive devices in their home, along with materials to make at least 30 more. Also found are homemade C-4 plastic explosives, grenades and mines, a .50-caliber rifle, semi-automatic weapons, and a list of 50 Islamic worship centers in the area. The most significant discovery is a three-page plan detailing plans to "kill all ‘rags'" at the Islamic Society of Pinellas County. Eventually, two other local men are charged in connection with the plot, and Goldstein's wife is arrested for possessing illegal destructive devices. Goldstein pleads guilty to plotting to blow up the Islamic Society and is sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison. His wife is released in 2006. Goldstein is released in August 2013.

under the then-new PATRIOT Act in 2003.

Two other Jewish terrorists, the late Irv Rubin and Earl Krugel, who were charged with attempting to bomb a Los Angeles office of Rep. Darrel Issa R-CA (district since redrawn twice in 2001 and 2011) were also not charged as harshly as Muslim terror suspects have been since.

The guilt-by-association tactics to attack Addameer in 2018 should be disregarded as much as the same tactics, used to attack CAIR since 2003, were disregarded by most kind people of goodwill except among readers agreeing with the conclusions of far-right, out of the mainstream, writers like Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor.
