Republican Gov Larry Hogan, Jr showed less courage to vote against his party than his father
The Washington Post's Metro section July 8, 2018 (sold July 7 as Early Sunday Edition) had article about Md Gov. (Republican) Larry Hogan releasing 3 years of tax returns unlike the unofficial leader of Hogan's Republican party 'President' Don Trump.
On that same day (July 8, 2018 sold July 7 as Early Sunday Edition) a letter from Lisa Kenigsberg, Potomac was picked for printing
It was not the first time Republican Governor Larry Hogan had trouble positioning himself with voters as a 'moderate' Republican.
In 2016 Gov. Larry Hogan did not attend the Republican National Committee Presidential nominating convention in Cleveland, OH. In November 2016 he wrote in his father Larry Hogan, Sr, who died 6 months after the 2016 election, for President.
Former Congress member and Prince George's county executive Larry Hogan, Sr was a former 'moderate' (unsustainable social liberal and fiscal conservative with political populism disrupting economic populism) Republican Prince George's County Executive (before the county transitioned to a demographic African-American majority) and Congress member who was the only Republican House Judiciary Committee member to vote for impeachment articles against ex-President Richard M. Nixon.
Gov. Larry Hogan, Jr didn't choose to benefit from, and assert as 2014 Senate challenger and then-incumbent top election regulator Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes did, the secrecy of ballots and vote for Hillary Clinton as then-Republican Congress member Larry Hogan, Sr opposed his Republican party line committee vote against impeachment. Governor Larry Hogan, Jr (R-MD) is not in the same elected position that Allison Lundergan Grimes was, with direct election oversight, consequently Governor Larry Hogan, Jr did not have the appearance of a conflict of interest that former Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes (D-KY) had.
